Hire Points – Locations and facilities
Around Morecambe Bay there are a series of ‘host’ locations where All Terrain Mobility Scooters are available for hire so you can get out and explore the all-ability routes on offer. The More to Explore project will be adding more hire points to this list shortly so watch this space!
To hire an all-terrain mobility scooter, take a look at the map showing where they are located and decide where and when you want to visit. You can then submit a booking inquiry either online or ring the hire point(s) directly.

Roudsea Wood Nature Reserve (Natural England)
Lying at the head of the Leven Estuary, Roudsea Wood is one of Britain’s most important woodland sites. It’s varied geology has allowed a rich mosaic of woodland types to thrive, and to the east of the woodlands are the bogs of Roudsea and Holker Mosses. To the south the reserve borders the Greenodd Sands. To inquire about booking a Tramper click here.
Walney Island Nature Reserve (Cumbria Wildlife Trust)
This shingle island reserve offers stunning views across Morecambe Bay and is a fantastic place for bird watching with over 25 species known to breed on the reserve. In spring, gulls return to take up territory and male eider court females. In small areas of the dune grassland pyramidal orchid, portland spurge and heartsease pansy can be found. Take a ride on the off road ‘Tramper’ to see these fantastic sights and sounds by booking with the reserve’s warden

Leighton Moss Nature Reserve (RSPB)
The RSPB working with the Arnside and Sivlerdale AONB and other partners are committed to improving access for all in this beautiful corner of the world. The partnership worked together to introduce the tramper scheme to improve access to the countryside for those with limited mobility. This free to hire, four wheel drive mobility scooter is perfect for exploring the countryside. It is available for use for anybody over the age of 14 at RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve in Silverdale.
